How does someone with ADD/ Asperger's blog? Carrrefulllyy! Vewwwy carefullly! Why? Because having ADD is kind of like living with the old Atari game Space Invaders. The invaders are thoughts, and they come firing at me constantly all the time from everywhere. To pursue this analogy, my meds are like my laser weapon to shoot down the invaders, but it only works to a certain degree. Although to give it credit, it does slow things down enough to help me see the wild untamed barrage of thoughts coming. Sometimes having a barrage of thoughts can actually come in handy. There are times when I can grab creative thoughts out of the air and put them to use.

The creative side of ADD does has its advantages. The only thing is, that because I also have a kind of autism which is also intensely creative, sometimes I have difficulty determining whether my creativity is stemming from my ADD or from my Aspergers' (autism). Still working on that one.

I must add to this note that although I have been formally diagnosed with Asperger's, I have not been diagnosed with ADD, so I don't know if I truly have it. I definitely do have a lot of the symptoms of it.
